A Must For Designers

This is the book to get you started in a hobby or career as a designer. I was struggling with getting organized and not knowing how to start, where to start, and with what to start. The book is easy to read and includes all the essentials for the basics of design. I checked it out at the library, and after reading it from cover to cover decided it was a must have, and so purchased my own copy. I highly, highly recommend it.

Good For Beginners

I wish the chapters on design and composition were more in depth, but overall the book was helpful.

Beginning and advance artists/designers will come away with new ideas and inspiration for their own artwork.Michelle Temares helps the artist/designer to see "What is Good Design", "Composition", and provides inspiration for "Developing a Color Scheme". Before I purchased this book, I would of never thought about using Graph Vellum (Chapter 1, Design Supplies) for designing and now that's all I use to create my own artwork.I give this book a "5" star rating and everyone that purchases this book will learn something new. Michelle Temares has proven that anyone can be an artist/designer through this remarkable written book.
