A must read for female leaders and their daughters!

The title of this book intrigued me; I was pleased to learn that Dr. Davis-Ali is an advocate of women and not at the expense of men. The book asserts that women need to be accountable for their choices and not stand in the shadows of men and lay blame. In doing so Dr. Davis-Ali creates momentum and power for women by freeing us from the "virtuous victim" role we can fall into trying to please the world. She acts as a mentor, coach and guide without judgment or condescension but holds the reader accountable for current state and future state decisions in a humble, matter-of-fact demeanor. Read this book to free yourself, evaluate your journey and course correct based on your own sense of self. Then pass this book to your daughters, nieces and younger women friends to support the next generation in valuing their sacred and native selves as they plan for the future.
