Brand new book!

I am looking forward to sharing this book with my grandchildren at Christmas! :)

Classic

This book was a book and wasn't a coloring book for me when I ordered it came perfect condition and is a must to have in your kids library

Pay close attention to your order.

I didn't pay close enough attention to the photo but this was a coloring book. It didn't say coloring book in the description but the photo shows that it is, so it's my fault. The book is already heavily colored in as well, so that kind of sucks. Definitely not sure I want to continue buying things from this app though. Again, my fault for not paying close attention to the photo but it should have also been in the description, I'm on my phone so the photos of the books arent that large or clear.

Good condition but...

While it does say "Coloring Book" on the book in the photo, it does not say that in the title or description for this book. So I'm a little disappointed. Seems a little deceptive.

Pay attention

I grew up with the video, so I figured I would introduce my 3 year old... just did not realize I ordered the dang COLORING BOOK. Ugh, oh well. We'll deal.

the best children's book EVER !!!

How The Grinch Stole Christmas is a classic tale about greed, materialism, and the kindness of man for his fellow man all wrapped up in one great big package! The illustrations are wonderful and the rhyming text impresses me. This is a story by Dr. Seuss that is so popular it was made into a Christmastime TV special; and it deserves every bit of recognition that it gets. (Note: this story is very popular; and because many, many people know it all the way through there are spoilers in this review.) When the story begins we are introduced to the Grinch. He hates Christmas with all celebrations down in "Who-ville," a village he can see from his home on a mountain. The Grinch hates the noise, the caroling, the sharing of presents and the feast of "roast beast." Eventually the Grinch gets an idea--he dresses up as Santa Claus and uses his dog Max for a reindeer; and this perverse take on the real Santa Claus tale is meant to strike people as ugly. The Grinch comes down from the mountain with his sled and his dog Max made up to look like a reindeer. Soon the Grinch steals all the presents, the stocking hung with care on the fireplace mantle, the roast beast, the Christmas trees--and even the firewood! The Grinch gets quite a surprise when on Christmas day the "Whos" of "Who-ville" celebrate and rejoice anyway--without any material things to mark the holiday spirit. This shocks the Grinch and he must consider the possibility that Christmas doesn't just "come from a store." Of course, once the Grinch learns his lesson he returns everything and there's quite a huge celebration with the Grinch leading the way as he carves the "roast beast." It's a very positive ending. The moral of the story for our children is, of course, that Christmas DOESN'T just come from a store. The importance of Christmas with its religious significance and its message of good will toward all mankind is stressed without banging the child on the head too aggressively. The story overall makes for a fascinating experience for the children. I have many fond memories of watching this TV special and reading this book when I was a very young child. As with many Dr. Seuss books, children can use this book on a concrete, literal level to improve their vocabulary and reading skills. Older kids will learn the importance of Christmas and the need for all mankind to respect each other and share the beauties of the world together. I highly recommend this exceptional children's book.

Great bedtime reading for kids ! ! !

I bought it for my three year old son, and I can't express how much joy my little one has every night when he goes to bed, he immediately runs to bed and literally ask my wife or me to start reading. I highly recommend it for all the little ones!! ! !, you won't regret it.

Excellent translation

This translation of How the Grinch Stole Christmas loses none of the rhythm and fun of the English version. Spanish-speaking kids (and English-speaking kids who are learning Spanish) need more Dr. Suess books translated.

First Pooh, and now the Grinch?

Imagine my surprise when this showed up one day from a friend of mine. He gave it to my wife and me because she was a religion major and I'm a theology student working through my latin. There is nothing quite as fun as trying to make sense of something you already know, and the Grinch is a story I've known for years! The flow and cadence are even preserved, making the translators into linguistic artists beyond compare! Just be sure to pick up Winnie Ille Pu as well, and read to your kids in a language that is, to quote Python, "not dead yet!"

"The Grinch Who Stole Christmas"

When I first saw the book I knew it was what I was looking for. The idea of putting children's books into Latin is great because books in Latin are very few and far in between. I liked the book because it is colorful and easy to translate. Also the book makes a great gift for Latin students and teachers because it makes Latin a fun and interesting langauge.
