The Housekeeper’s Daughter

I remember reading this book years ago and I enjoy reading it very much. I love this series of The Coltons Family. I love the characters and their story they are telling me.

From Back Cover

Mighty Drake Colton could handle the Navy's most dangerous missions - but the housekeeper's daughter now had him buffaloed. Eight months ago the tough and resilient SEAL had come home to celebrate Joe Colton's sixtieth birthday and had ended up sharing his body and soul with Maya Ramirez. But the sheets had barely cooled from their heated lovemaking when he'd walked out to put his life on the line again. And she'd done the unthinkable. The woman who'd worshiped him since childhood - who was now carrying his baby - had closed her heart to him.Well, Drake was used to getting what he wanted. And Maya would be his - whatever it took! 7th in "The Coltons" series.

the mystery continues

In this month's series (no. 7 in the Colton series) the matriarch of the family is now being investigated quite thoroughly. The premise of the "evil twin" impersonating the real Mrs Colton is a little difficult to buy into, but I still enjoyed the main thread of this story. Son, Drake Colton, is a Navy Seal. On his last visit home, he impregnated "the Housekeeper's Daughter". Of course, he leaves her a note saying he can't commit to love and marriage. He is a "tortured" hero. He blames himself for his twin's death when they were young boys. He just wallows in his guilt. I really liked the heroine in the story. She is strong, intelligent, and very wise. She won't accept him on any terms except total love and commitment. I'm a sucker for the assertive heroine.

Laurie Paige Delivers

This is the first book of the Coltons I have read. Laurie Paige grabs you from the get go and doesn't let go. I finished in a couple hours because I just hade to know. I highly recomend this page turner and any more to come.
