Why would you bother to read a book about a tiny creature which is not even visible to the naked eye? Whether you like it or not, it has become a life time partner for the majority of the planet's house dwelling population and its life is intimately linked with ours. If we think of our dwelling as a nest then we share it with this tiny partner and it relies on us for its food, shelter, warmth and 'drink'.
