Smokin' Hot Herring...

The text from the back cover is not currently available on this page, so I'm inserting it here. START OF BACK COVER TEXT Ricky Conrad brings a whole new meaning to the word hot... but is the rising young rock star too hot to handle??? In an effort to revive her struggling restaurant chain, Alice Collins hires the dynamic Ricky Conrad and her band, Hot Check, to record a new corporate jingle. Ricky turns out to be as talented as she is drop-dead gorgeous, and the minute her sultry voice hits the airwaves, restaurant sales start to soar--- along with Alice's pulse. Although one look from the singer can turn her blood to molten lava, workaholic Alice is determined not to mix business with pleasure. But as she watches Ricky play those hot licks on the guitar, she can't help but fantasize what those strong hands could do to a woman's body... to her body... It's hard to keep your cool when you're standing at the edge of a volcano... END OF BACK COVER TEXT Peggy Herring writes such incredibly hot and realistic lesbian sex scenes, this reader wonders what her personal life is really like. Within the first few chapters, the author skillfully builds the sexual tension between Ricky and Alice until the paper pages actually seem to char. Of course, Herring develops the emotional relationship of these two women as well. That emotional relationship is what keeps them both from completely falling apart in the second half of the book. Ricky deals with the challenges of being in an accident and losing half her band. Alice deals with the increasing demands of her CEO father who expects her to relocate to New Orleans from Austin and Ricky's skyrocketing success. Both women are unsure of what to expect from the other, but-- as usual--love and jealousy seem to conquer all. A classic in the making. Here's hoping for a reprint soon so everyone can enjoy.

Fun to read. Leave your brain at the door

Alice works for her father's company and always feels as though she always has to prove herself both to her dad and her subordinates. The restaurants she is managing are not doing well and she was told a radio spot featuring a jingle might help her lagging business. Which is how she meets Ricky and her band Hot Check. The libidos start going as soon as they meet and it takes a while but not long for them to get together. Alice's workaholic lifestyle becomes a problem, as does her father's habit of moving her around and testing her. Ricky is insecure and everytime Alice has to move, she feels she is just trying to end the relationship. A lot happens, some of it surprising but as with all romance novels, we have a happy ending. One of Peggy Herring's better outings. This one is a little more believable, especially since Alice is in the closet to her family.

Hot characters, enjoyable and believable.

This is the first I have read by this author and I found it difficult to put down. She really develops the characters well and gives all of them enough time to be real. My only complaint would be that it was too short. When Alice meets Ricky you felt the chemistry between them. They both seemed to know a good thing when they see it. I loved the tuxedo scene! I hope we see them again!
