Hong Kong, September 2019. The city continued to move. Photographed between September 17 and 21, 2019, this book follows Hong Kong through arrival halls, buses, markets, MTR platforms, restaurants, shopping streets, residential towers, and the harbour. Work continues. Meals are served. Crowds cross. Words remain on walls. Uniformed officers and emergency vehicles appear within otherwise ordinary streets. These photographs do not attempt to explain a single event or provide a complete account of Hong Kong at that moment. Instead, they record what could be seen while moving through the city: commerce, transportation, food, architecture, light, human movement, and the visible traces of a particular time. No single image explains the five days. Together, 120 photographs preserve the texture of September 2019-a city moving through daily life while its time remains visible. HONG KONG 2019: The City Continued is a chronologically structured photographic record, photographed and edited by Hello UG.
