Excellent continuation of the series

9/26/25 - 10/3/25 Home to Whiskey Creek (#4 Whiskey Creek) by Brenda Novak Tender and difficult topic(s) for the Whiskey Creek series. Includes the group of characters from previous novels and adding some new characters to the storyline. This novel focuses on Noah, the cyclist, and twin to Cody, and Baxter, their lifetime friend since grammar school. Baxter lives in Whiskey Creek, but works in San Francisco as an investor. The gang all Mets every Friday for coffee at one of the coffee shops in town to gather and kibitz. Adelaide Davies returns to Whiskey Creek after 15 years being away to help her grandmother in her restaurant Just Like Mom’s, as gran is frail and aging. Addy as she’s been mostly known and she’s returned home with a very dark secret she’s kept hidden for 15 years. 4 others in town know about her secret because it involves them and the 5 person died the night everything happened. No one suspects Addy is involved except the four and the deceases ex-girlfriend. This puts Addy on edge and she’s kidnapped from her gran’s house in the middle of the night by one of the four and dumped at the original place where the deceased died with no way to escape. The novel revolves around the secrets of the death of Noah’s twin, the graduation party and Addy’s secrets of the graduation party. Strife, angst and always looking over her shoulder not knowing which one did this recent event to her leaves her on edge, then seeing her rescuer, Noah, Cody’s twin brother, isn’t helping matters much for her. Her gran doesn’t know the secrets, and to add to the stress Addy’s mom shows up! And Noah won’t back off. It’s at the end where everything starts to pick up pace and Noah learns more than Addy wants him to. Everything comes out and everyone is in turmoil and upheaval. Brenda ties it all together making it the best ending of just desserts for everyone and the small town of Whiskey Creek is shocked by what they have found out!
