Written by one of Britain's most popular historians, this absorbing story offers a clear, concise, and entertaining picture of the operational history of German capital ships in World War II. This description may be from another edition of this product.
It is sad to think of the young men lost on each of these ships. Sailors have to worry about the sea as well as the enemy. Germany built such fine looking ships when you see them, it is a same that none are here to be seen by us. I enjoyed the way the Author went with a timeline that covered the whole war from start to finish, filling the history of each ship as it came was perfect. Had a chapter been done on each ship alone, I felt would have missed putting her loss in the context of the overall situation of the conflict. Would love to see a book like this on the other combatant's battleship's histories. A very good read.
