If you are seeking some truth about where the Christian religion comes from and how "they" chose the books of the Bible, etc., read this book. But, I wouldn't start or stop there. I would definitely start with some history reading about Constantine (The Life and Times of Constantine the Great). And, later reading about the books that didn't make it into the Bible (Lost Scriptures) . Also, religions of the time that could have been the dominant religion but were extinguished by Orthodox Christianity (Lost Christianities). Good luck. I hope you find what you are seeking.

I picked this up when I had an argument with someone about who decided what books of the bibles should be in there.
