Great read!

The synopses are already written but I enjoyed really enjoyed this book. It is one of my rereads and the story could be true. The characters are well developed. It is part of the "Men of Glory" saga.

His Brother's Bride

Abby Steen met Jesse Winslow at a cattle show. She's lonely after her husband's death a few months ago. She and Jesse dance, and she tells him about her husbands death and the daughter that was stillborn a couple months later. They have a weekend affair, and then go their seperate ways.Four months later, Abby writes to Jesse and tells him she's pregnant. He write back, and surprisingly, asks her to marry him. She accepts when she knows that she'll never be accepted by the small-minded people of her hometown as a single mother. She moves in with Jesse and his brother Noah.Just days before the wedding, though, Jesse takes off, leaving Abby alone with Noah. Noah galantly offers to marry her instead, and Abby hesitantly agrees. Their marriage might be for the sake of the !twins!, but it soon turns to a love that'll last through it all!

A real treat

With her father injured, Abby Speen represents their farm at the Carlisle, Minnesota exhibition. That first night, Jesse Winslow introduces himself to a lonely Abby. She cannot help but tell Jesse that her spouse died two years ago and her newborn baby was stillborn not much afterward. Jesse tries to comfort Abby and they end up making love. Five months later, she sends the Alberta rancher a letter informing him she is pregnant. He surprises her by asking her to marry him. She accepts when she realizes the intolerance she and her child will suffer from friends and family in her hometown of Wicoigon, South Dakota. In Alberta, Abby meets Jesse's brother nasty Noah, who has doubts about this marriage. Jesse makes all the arrangements, but runs away just before the wedding day. Noah offers to marry Abby instead. With no place to go, reluctantly Abby accepts. However, neither one is prepared to the love that blossoms between them.Fans of modern day ranch tales will fully enjoy Judith Bowen's latest novel, HIS BROTHER'S BRIDE. Abby is a brave person, who continues to swing the bat in spite of several nasty curve balls tossed at her. Noah is a responsible individual who does the right thing. Jesse is Noah's opposite even though he wants to do right by Abby. This isosceles triangle works because readers understand what makes each one of these three people ticks. Hopefully, Ms. Bowen will provide Jesse's tale next in her rich Men of Glory series.Harriet Klausner
