Cute, funny, easy read

This is my first Cindy Miles book and I was not disappointed. The heroine was quirky, independent and had a great sense of humor. I enjoyed her banter with the Highland men and what she brought out in her love, Ethan. One thing I wish Ms. Miles could have explained better was the ending. A little more detail on how the "wrong" was "righted" and the details on what happened after that until the conclusion of the story. Otherwise a great light read.

I thought this was a very very good book to read. very cute and funny. I hope Cindy Miles will write more books like this and swapt away, I really like ghost romances like ghost of mrs. muir. It has that kind of cute story line. Tammy

funny, enchanting paranormal romance

Amelia Landry is a mystery writer in a funk. To get her out of said funk, her best friend/publicist arranges for Amelia to spend the summer in a tower house in the highlands of Scotland. Ethan Munro and his five kinsmen are not-quite-dead not-quite-ghosts. Seven hundred years ago they were enchanted into a state of perpetual in-between: they can interact with each other, be seen by and interact with those who are particularly receptive, but only physically materialize during the gloaming (twilight) hour each day. They do not know why they are in this state - except that it has something to do with the unsolved murder of Ethan's wife, Devina. Highland Knight was a funny, enchanting (please excuse the pun) book - not surprising, given Miles' first two books, Spirited Away and Into Thin Air. I read it in roughly 24 hours, racing through the first two thirds in the first night, and savoring the last third throughout the following day. I cannot wait for Miles' next book, due (I believe) early in 2009.

A Excellent Romance/Mystery/Time-Travel/ Ghost Story!

Amelia goes to Scotland to write her book and while staying at this old castle she comes across some enchanted knights. While she helps the knights solve the mystery of why they are enchanted she falls in love with Ethan the hunky Highlander! Her books just get better and better - if you haven't read them I would suggest picking up Into Thin Air (Signet Eclipse) and Spirited Away (Signet Eclipse) and Enjoy!

This is one of those books that blends the past and present perfectly with plenty of humor, romance, historical charm, and witty dialogue. I was glued to the storyline and loved how the characters interacted with each other. I love the Scottish burr that sends shivers down your spine as you imagine these warriors speaking the phrases - and for those of you who insist on actual Gaelic in these sorts of stories, there are even some Gaelic terms, which I have to admit are downright sexy even if I didn't fully understand the translations (and yes I did look a few of them up).
