Tanski Holliday is a divorced mother of two, trying to earn a living as an exotic bead jeweler. At the first large craft show of the year she is invited on a hot-air balloon flight that ends in near tragedy. Returning to the security and supposed safety of her crafts show community of artists and artisans, her belief in safety is challenged when one of her friends is found dead at the show. The police declare "natural causes" but Tanski is not convinced and continues to question their conclusion. She suspects there is a link between the hot-air balloon incident and her friend's death but cannot uncover that connection. Unwilling to believe ill of her crafts associates she relaxes her inquiries until another friend dies at a later show. Suddenly, Tanski herself faces a conclusion that she must accept - or die.
