Hidden: The Lies She Told

By Lisa Nicol

In this powerful memoir, Lisa unfolds the heart-wrenching story of her lifelong struggle with identity and belonging. Born into a world where her heritage was hidden and her identity a mystery, Lisa's journey is one of resilience against the backdrop of Liverpool's vibrant but often challenging streets. As she navigates the complexities of family secrets, racial identity, and personal discovery, her story becomes a testament to the unyielding quest for truth.

With a narrative that weaves through the echoes of Liverpool's rich cultural tapestry, Lisa's journey from confusion to clarity is deeply moving. Her struggle with ethnicity and belonging in a society quick to judge and label is a mirror to the soul of a city, and to the universal human experience of finding one's place in the world.

This is more than just a memoir; it's a voyage of discovery that challenges the reader to consider the profound impact of heritage and the powerful role it plays in shaping our lives. As Lisa finally uncovers the truth about her past, she confronts the reality that her story was written long before she began to live it. Her narrative is a stark reminder that while we may not be able to choose our history, we can choose what we become in spite of it.
