Hidden City: Poems of Urban Wildlife

By Sarah Grace Tuttle and Sarah` Grace Tuttle

Book Overview

New York Public Library Best Books for Kids 2018

Celebrate nature in urban environments with award-winning science poetry from environmental expert and poet Sarah Grace Tuttle

With a perfect blend of science and poetry, Hidden City's 27 free-verse poems from environmental expert Sarah Grace Tuttle demonstrate that nature can thrive anywhere, even in highly populated areas. The collection celebrates the animals, insects, and plants that live in cities and towns, including falcons that perch on skyscrapers, hungry bats that feast on an insect buffet atop a streetlight, and flora and fauna that take shelter in an overgrown lot.

Beautiful collage illustrations from Amy Schimler-Safford show each species in its habitat, and back matter includes scientific information about the featured animals and plants .
