Herbert Fieldmouse, Secret Agent

As a substitute teacher I like to have a good collection of "read-alouds" for different grade levels. I've found that Kevin O'Malley's picture books are excellent for this. The pictures are always captivating and the stories keep the children well entertained. This one lives up to my expectations. I read it to a first grade class the other day and they loved it. We followed up with them writing stories in which they were private detectives. They got into it and did a great job!
