Great childbirth stories!

If you enjoy stories about childbirth experiences, this book is for you. I have re-read this book about 100 times and have lent it out several times. The most interesting stories are the earliest stories--those of women who gave birth in the early 1900's, but all of the stories are compelling and great. I read this before the birth of my baby and, of course, afterward as well. The book demonstrates a historical perspective on childbirth as well--from home births because hospitals didn't exist as they do now, to medical interventions like 'twilight sleep,' and back around the loop to more autonomy in childbirthing. It's just a great book! I would love to have this author write another book with even more birthing stories in it. It's fascinating!
