August 1872. Spark, Nevada. Scalps... everywhere. Bloody. Wet. Scalps. No one knows why they're appearing, and no one in charge seems to care. Enter Del Smoke-Savannah's gunslinging lawyer. He's come to town in search of the man with the tattoo: the same man who raped and dismembered his sister twenty years ago. Now that an outsider is watching, the town's cracks are beginning to show. Thankfully, Del's not alone. He's got Constantine Chan, a legal assistant with a penchant for swords. With the help of a local nun, they begin to uncover a brooding conspiracy between the town's hangman and undertaker-one that might explain why the innocent are being buried, and why scalps keep appearing. Is Spark cursed, or is this something more deliberate? Del reckons he can find the truth, but is he ready for the answer everyone else fears?
