Comprehensive and useful resource for educators of the blind
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 27 years ago
This book is comprehensive in its approach to the resources, materials and techniques an educator of blind children will need. It uses a topical approach which allows the reader to find what information is currently needed. Some of the discussion around how to explain the nature of partial sight was very helpful with working with regular education teachers.
good book for teachers of the blind
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 29 years ago
This book is very comprehensive in its coverage of topics of concern to teachersof blind and visually impaired students. Case studies are used to illustratemethods of dealing with various situations. One advantage this book has is that one of the authors is a blind teacher. This makes it a valuable resource for other teachers who are blind. What I did not like about this book is that it seemed slanted in its recommendations of organizations with which teachers and parents could get involved. Also, the authors are very much in favor of using sleepshades (blindfolds) when teaching partially sighted students to read braille.
