"A Remarkable Romance"

Joleen Wheeler should have been ecstatic. Wealthy, influential, handsome Carl Landon was about to sweep her off her feet, maker her his wife. Finally Joleen would get out of Alvira, away from the greasy spoon diner that was her only source of income, and into a life of luxury. So why wasn't she happier? Why was she bothered with the fact that she didn't love Carl? And why did this stranger in the diner stir such fires of passion within her? When she finds the stranger is Jake, Carl's brother, this just complicates matters further. Add to that Jake's attraction to her, his rebellious nature and too much closeness without Carl around, and all this spells trouble for Joleen. It constantly amazes me when authors can take less than two hundred pages and lay down a complicated, satisfying romance with just enough twists to be interesting and enough mystery to keep the pages turning. Who says a good book needs four hundred pages of character development? Give me the extraordinary characters of TWO BROTHERS AND A BRIDE, the simple love exuding from every encounter between Jake and Joleen, and the passion that keeps it all running.
