Gravitation Volume 2 (Hiro Quits The Band?! Yuki Has Siblings And A Fiancée?!)

This volume had so much content that it might be hard to wrap your brain around if you have never seen the anime. I love the characters' descriptions near the musical notes at the book's beginning. After Yuki visits his "dying" father, he returns to bring a bouquet to a sleep-deprived Shuichi. It's sweet how Yuki brings Shuichi flowers because he's worried about him. I love Yuki's soft spot for Shuichi. However, Yuki takes advantage of Shuichi when he lets his guard down, causing them to do it for the first time. Shuichi's mother and sister duo believe Shuichi is a slut for sleeping around with Yuki. On the other side of Bad Luck, unfortunately, Hiro's family is forcing him to break up with Shuichi and leave Bad Luck. I had no idea Hiro had an older brother (or any brother at all) named Yuji. Or that he would play such a crucial role in Hiro's future decisions. Hiro's decision regarding his graduation plans determines the course for the rest of his life. Noriko, a vocalist and keyboardist of the ever-popular group Nittle Grasper, is assigned to assist with Bad Luck's lyrics and synthesizer. Noriko has quite a bit of spunk. I find it hard to believe Noriko sets aside time for Bad Luck. Also, is Noriko really a mother? And is she, as well as the rest of Nittle Grasper, really older than Sakano? In this volume, Tohma Seguchi acts more like a boss towards Sakano, especially when he fires him as a manager and forces him to become Bad Luck's producer. Also, Yuki's brother Tatsuha and Yuki's fiancée Ayaka make their debuts in Gravitation. The mini story confuses me. I believe it's about Tatsuha's multiple love lives with the ladies, but I'm not 100% sure. Overall, I love Maki Murakami's Gravitation and the direction it's going. Hopefully, this fiancée won't break the bond that Yuki and Shuichi have.

Missing several pages

I really love this series, however the copy that was sent to me had several pages ripped out from it. I was very upset at this. Great story, though.

Oh my. :D ::fangirl::

I have to say... out of half the series of Gravitation I've bought so far, this one I like the most. But to say something about it. The art is beautiful. There is no explict content. This is bl (boy love) not really a yaoi in this case, but a shounen-ai at the same time. This volume has semeXuke quite alot. As far as hilarity, if you've seen the anime of Gravi.. where Tatsuha comes in, it's in here as well. As a fangirl Gravitation v. 2 would be my favorite. :3 In here.. Yuki and Shuichi have their share of "scenes" with a little resistance that makes it cute.

A little info and my opinion....

Gravitation is my favorite manga yet. I read a few others such as InuYasha, Chobits, and CLAMP, but Gravitation is still by far my favorite. For those of you who haven't already read Gravi, the story revolves around two characters; Shindou Shuichi, and Yuki Eiri. Shuichi is in a band 'Bad Luck' along with his partner and best friend Nakano Hiroshi, otherwise known as Hiro. At the moment, the band is only locally known, but the two are very popular at their high school; Tohoku High. One night when Shuichi is walking home from work, taking a shortcut, he's looking at his lyrics thinking about what his sister Maiko said earlier about a girlfriend. He sneezes and the lyrics blow away. This is where Yuki comes in, picking up the lyrics, then harshly criticizing Shuichi about them and the story progresses from there. Vol 2 is a bit more graphic than Vol 1, but still good all the same. The book is for 16+, but that didn't phase me much. Gravi is a shonen-ai manga, otherwise known as boy/boy love. Shonen=boy, ai=love, thus creating boys love. And even if shonen-ai is iffy to you, it's still an enjoyable story. The drawings are great, and the little notes and other things just add to the story, making it more interesting.

I Love Yuki!

Gravitation is one of the best shounen-ai manga I've read. Full of bishies, comedy and angst, Gravi is a great story that centers around the relationship of the sweet, hyper Shuichi and cold, brooding Yuki. The art in the book is a little sketchy, but one you get used to it, it's very fasinating. Murakami-sensai has a habit of sticking comments and other tidbits in her drawings, which makes Gravi all the more fun to read. That, plus the fact that Yuki Eiri is very fun to look at ^_^.I don't have any major problems with the translation; however, I do wish that they had kept all the honorifics and the Japanese name order. Eiri Yuki just doesn't roll of the tongue the way Yuki Eiri does.I'm also aware that some people dislike the way Yuki treats Shuichi. Yuki is harsh with Shuichi mainly because he's trying to protect himself from being hurt again. Besides, Yuki's cruel attitude just makes the times he's kind to Shuichi that much more sweet.Overall, Gravitation is fun and interesting series for people who want to try shounen-ai manga. There's nothing to graphic or hardcore (at least to my knowledge)and the story outside Yuki and Shuichi's relationship is pretty entertaining as well.

Long live Gravitation

I personally love Gravitation. The art is nice, and you'll notice that unless you're some kind of art critic. The characters are very likeable, though many dislike Yuki's treating of Shuichi. There IS a reason behind that. Yuki is not just a selfish bastard. In his past something happened to him that changed him forever. So please don't go around assuming that the romance between Shuichi and Yuki isn't going to change. Gravitation also has a lot of great humor and plenty of bishies from Tohma to Hiro to Sakuma (okay, so maybe I'm the only one who thinks Sakuma's a bishie...) and of course, Shuichi and Yuki.In this volume, things get really heated up. If you just like fluff, and light fluff at that, you will be whacked in the head by this book. As hinted at the preview of this volume in book 1, Yuki and Shuichi's relationship goes farther. This IS rated 16+ for a reason. If you believed that Gravitation was going to stay at 13+, it really doesn't. One of the awesome things about this volume is the conflict between Shuichi and Hiro. Hiro's going to become a doctor, so he tells Shuichi that he has to quit playing as a guitarist. A lot more of Hiro's character is revealed in this book and who wouldn't want to know more about this bish? There's also the introduction of Yuki's brother, Tatsuha. ^_~ This book is filled with humor, and hot romance. I seriously suggest getting it.

SO much better than the TV series.

This is hillarious & a must have for any hardcore BL ("moder shounen ai" for those less up-to-date) fan. You wont be able to put this book down, & when you do, it will hurt! & when you're done, you'll want more! ( & you'll swear at the lack of...ehem... yaoi eyecandy & Shuichi being such a baby about it) For those of you who've only seen the show, Eiri is less of a bastard & Toumo looks nothing like Yukito from CCS here.
