Maria Moulton's Barrett's self analysis resonates deeply within anyone who has struggled with marriages, loves and a dedicated career. To hear her timeless thoughts, reminisinces and self-recriminations as a part of living history moved me to the core. I feel such empathy and warmth for her deep comitment to feminist ideals, medicine, psychoanalysis and finally and most importantly-- motherhood. How amazing it is to hear the personal and daily dillemmas of people (lovers and mathematicians) who later became so famous. The depth of feeling that is carried across continents and worlds has such universality. For those with the courage to get emersed in someone else's feelings, this is a marvelous journey. Judith C. Self-analysys the Creative Way

"Graphotherapy" serves as a fascinating introduction to psychoanalysis while offering the reader a glimpse into the intimate memoir of an insightful psychiatrist. Especially intriguing is the exploration of her youthful years in the long relationship she had with Claude Shannon, the mathematician, who later became well known for his discovery of the Information Theory. But foremost, the reader (especially one who has been through analytical therapy) learns how writing free associatively can be a tool for exploration and revelation about conflicts. Soulful drawings and paintings beautifully illustrate the creative process. Jack Braunstein, Director of Development, Binghamton University
