Very Good for Its Time

This is one of the more commonly reached for books on my shelves because of its ability to concisely explain general medical conditions and tests. I also own the 1979 edition which includes a drug guide which the 1988 edition is lacking. Quite a bit of the the information in the 1988 edition is out of date, especially in regard to the treatment of certain disorders which have just been developed within the past 10 years. However, I would still recommend this book to anyone who wants quick answers to general medical questions.
