Showing its age

This book was written in 2004 and published in 2005, and it covered only U.S. courses on the Tour. As time goes by, more courses are missing, as they are added to the Tour. I bought this as a used book a couple of years ago to use as a companion for my EA Sports Tiger Woods PGA Tour golf game on my Wii. It was fun to find out how realistically the courses were modeled in the game, because reading the hole descriptions brought me right back to playing those holes in the game. I have never played real golf, but I have been a virtual player on some of the great courses, and I understand the challenges described in the book from what feels like first-hand experience. I wish there was a newer update to this beautiful book, that includes the international courses that are on the PGA Tour, as well as the newer U.S. courses that have been added.

I'm very pleased with this purchase

I purchased this book to use as our Guest Book at our wedding this summer. Our wedding and reception are at a golf course, so we thought this would be a fitting book for our guests to sign. There are many beautiful pictures, and plenty of space for them to write their wishes. For our purposes, I absolutely love the book! I recommend it to anyone - I think it's a great coffee table read!

Beautiful book for the golfer & golf fan

This deluxe volume covers each of the courses on the PGA Tour and has several full color pictures of key holes on each course covered. Since some PGA tour events are replaced by new ones, the book may become slightly dated but, nonetheless, it is a great spectator's guide for those who watch the tour each week on TV or who occasionally attend tour events in person. The volume also includes a great map of each course covered. This is useful because it puts the course in perspective, For example, I have seen the famous 13th hole at Augusta National on TV many times but never appreciated how sharp a dogleg it is until seeing the map. Also, the map shows the direction each hole runs in relation to other holes. For example one hole may go out and the next hole come back in the opposite direction. The maps give you this perspective. Another great feature of the book is a short piece written by a golfer who has won the tournament played on that course. I highly recommend this wonderful book.
