Gold Dust Woman is an anthology of poetry written during a three-month period of self discovery. Described as "raw" and "edgy," it is a collection of poems written straight from the heart to the page, and could be described as any woman's story. Written from a very personal standpoint where topics such as love, marriage, childbirth, divorce, alcoholism and nature are shown in a very real and insightful light. There's humor and realism describing some dark subject matter. The author is a self-described "washashore" on the island of Martha's Vineyard, where she washed up almost thirty years ago, knowing no one. Year-round life on a small island in New England, can be harsh and difficult, as any small community can be, yet it is here where many artists are celebrated and eccentricity can be an advantage. Sian shares her wry humor and wisdom as a woman with all who care to step in and absorb. Despite setbacks, there is a positive outlook and inspiration to those who are searching.
