A wonderfully romantic novel from the Sunday Times bestselling author of A Rose Petal Summer and A Country Escape.

Jo Edwards never planned to live on a barge. She's not even sure she likes boats. But when her husband trades her in for a younger model, she finds her options alarmingly limited.

Dora Hamilton never planned to run out on her own wedding. But as The Big Day approaches, her cold feet show no signs of warming up - and accepting Jo's offer of refuge aboard The Three Sisters seems the only alternative.

As Jo and Dora embark on reorganising their muddled lives, they realise they both need a practical way to keep themselves afloat. But, despite their certainty that they've sworn off men for good, they haven't bargained for the persistent intervention of attractive but enigmatic Marcus, and laid-back, charming Tom, who both seem determined to help them whether they like it or not...

Going Dutch opens a new era for Katie Fforde

This was a wonderful book. The characters cast long shadows and for once the main love interests are mature adults. This is new for Katie Fforde and I hope she will write more with older women as the central characters. The boomer generation still cuts a wide swath across the populations of most Englsih-speaking (and reading) nations and it's nice to read about romance amongst one's own age group. Perhaps books such as this one can influence other romance writers. Never fear, all you younger Katie Fforde fans, she's included another couple in the full bloom of youth and young love as well. The combination should please most readers of any age. GOING DUTCH is British chicklit at its very best.

Fforde's Books -- Just Wonderful!

I read a fair number of books in this category (as well as other categories) and have to say that I just LOVE the ones written by Katie Fforde. She just tells a fabulous story! Her characters are all wonderful and endearing, the plots are exciting and filled with romantic tension, and, overall, the books are just a joy to read. Most often, I read them as quickly as I can to find out what's going to happen to the main characters and then when I'm done I miss them like mad. I hope Katie Fforde keeps writing for many, many years.

Every book a gem

I love everything this woman writes and each book is better than the last! Wonderful realistic characters that real women can identify with, fun locals and a great sense of humor. And the romance... Run, don't walk to get this book and everything else by her!
