This is the psalm I have read and reread over the years, and I have shared it with thousands of people during my forty-five years of ministry.

I have ministered in jails and prisons, on street corners, in halfway houses, and even in aisles of Walmart. I have been led to speak to individuals or couples that I may never see again, but there was a reason for each of these encounters.

Some have told me no one has ever spoken to them about God or Jesus. Others have said they were only taught about an angry God who would punish them, and are surprised when I tell them, "He is loving and wants the best for you".

I have come to call these moments "divine appointments," orchestrated by God for His "Jewels in the Rough." A jewel in the rough has not yet been polished or cut into a beautiful gemstone, but what is inside is already there.

Every story and every memory in this book begins with Jesus. Only He can transform lives-meeting each individual where they are and molding them into His image.
