There may be 'higher beings' that were seen as gods by early civilizations, but there must also be an Ultimate Perfect Power. A presence humans cannot design or conform to their various cultures; a presence even science cannot deny. A force that is Omnipotent, Omnipresent and Omniscient (the 3 O's).
