A wonderful way to help a child appreciate baptism

This book presents a Lutheran view of infant baptism. It is geared for young children with an appealing rhyming verse style. My three year-old loves it. I was impressed how much theology they managed to work into the verses in a child accessible manner. They start by discussing that God chose you before you were born and move on to discuss that God created you. It discusses how God put parents and other very special people in your life to care for you as a part of his plan. It then moves on to talk about how God welcomed you into his family and freed you from the chains of sin when you were baptized. It discusses how God calls you to him and works faith in your heart through the Holy Spirit. It wraps up by encouraging you to remember your baptism date each year as the date you received this gift from God. Throughout, the book is illustrated with tender pictures of families taking care of babies, taking them to the baptismal font, and celebrating a baptismal anniversary. Overall, a well done book. I am very pleased with it.
