You are not alone in your feelings or crazy Nobody can imagine how intense the grief process can be. This book tells the story of one woman who knew that healing was possible and that a new life was on the other side.
Through journaling and poetry, the author describes the raw emotion, anger, questioning, profound emptiness and feelings of loss, and being lost, as she moved through the two years after her husband's death.
She invites readers into the inner landscape of grief - the questions that surfaced, the moments that shook her, and the quiet realizations that slowly emerged along the way. She offers an intimate look at the emotional currents that shaped her healing.
This book was written to help validate the feelings associated with profound grief. If you or a friend is struggling to understand what is happening and needs to feel hope, this book was written for you.
From the Author, Penelope Pope:
Giving Voice To Grief was written over a two year period as a journal after my husband of 50 years died. It details the feelings during that time from being devastated, to seeing shifts in the grief process, to moving forward with a new and different life.
It is raw with anguish and pain, but demonstrates cracks in the grief process as it constantly oscillates between grief and recovery. It also carries a number of poems which flowed through my mind and onto the page, almost with a will of their own.
