Liberty Jones has come home to the house bequeathed to her by an aunt and she immediately strikes it off with Luke Fulton, flirting while he stands by handing her tools as she fixes her car. Luke Fulton is practically obsessed with buying back the family land he lost to ski-resort developers and he doesn't want anything to do with someone who might leave town, but he can't resist Liberty. Especially once they realize that they live across the street from each other and he begins to come over to help her fix up her inherited house. Luke has an option to buy back the land he lost which expires soon, and as the deadline looms he becomes more and more busy arranging deals to gather up the money he needs... This romance is short with a fairly obvious twist at the end but the characters are so real and their problems ring so true that you root for them to the end. I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars only because readers of Suzanne Brockmann will be used to something twice as long with twice as many complications in the plot.
