In hopes of a better life, Daniel and Cynthia Brown left Carrolton, Georgia during the spring of 2023 and moved to the vibrant city of San Marcos, California. They were tired of dealing with the annual storms that created wide-spread disaster. The damage caused by the adversity forced them to either delay the renovation or relocate with friends until their residence was restored to a condition suitable for occupation. In the past year, they found themselves without a penny in the bank due to on-going expenses associated with roof, foundation and electrical systems. The move to California was exciting for them because it meant a fresh start. By trade, Daniel was a diesel mechanic while his wife Cynthia worked as a high school teacher.
Cynthia had an older sister named Barbara who resides in Carlsbad, California. Before relocating, she'd encouraged them to take a look at the area before making a permanent change since the cost of living could be a shocker. Weeks after establishing residency in California, Cynthia found out she was three plus months pregnant. With a bun in the oven, it became a conversation piece for the two sisters to have some girl talk. Before long their gab turned into a bi-weekly thing for them to chat extensively about life with a newborn in the house. Soon, the reality regarding the cost of living began to set in when Cynthia was having a hard time finding a full time position at one of the nearby schools. The lies, deception and setbacks endured by Cynthia were enough to make her blood boil-but a vile act by Barbara would cause a commotion like no other.
