This book is my "tool book" and mental support on a daily ba sis. The author analyzes and categories difficult people, but does not bore you with psychology details. You won't go through pages of personaly differences. You get effective and useful tips that you can use in many situations. You become calmer and less bothered by difficult people because you know their types, their behavior, and what you can do.I have read this book 3 - 4 times now. Every time I found something new. You can use it as a reference book - looking up the types you have to deal with, and finding the skills you need. It's also written in a fun-to-read kind of way, but with simple and clear messages...Absolutely a best tool book!!

After looking over several books on this topic, I have found Judith Segal's book to be the most accessible in its approach. Without over-analyzing, the author stakes out the "territory", loosely categorizing difficult and challenging people into type pools. With humor and believeable anecdotes, Segal deftly offers the reader ways to see a problematic relationship and the skills to handle it. I have definitely seen the benefits of applying some of the techniques outlined in this book. Originally, I took this book out of the library, but I intend to purchase it for my personal library. It is a valuable source of reference.
