Only one tinney-winney problem...

I LOVED Dawn of the Dead. When I first saw at the age of 12 it changed my life. 10 years later I'm still obsessed. So of course I loved the comic. I won't go into the the 2004 remake, let's be honest: it was a remake in name only (whoever let the same guy who wrote the "Scooby Doo" movie scripts write that one should be shot). Anyway the comic was terrific except for the single fact that the characters were too attractive. Let me explain: In the original Romero films one thing that always stood out for me was the fact that these were ordinary people. They weren't your typical Hollywood phonies victimized by the rampant ageism and physical appearence standards of American pop culture. Let's be honest: Fran was not terribly attractive, she was plain. Nor were the other three anything special: Peter, Roger, and Steven. To quote Peter: "They're us, that's all..." That's what makes the films so terrific. So I wouldn't have made Fran look like April O'Neil from TMNT. That's all I wanted to say. If you disagree I understand. (...)

A MUST FOR ANY HORROR FAN

Steve Niles's book "Dawn Of The Dead" is a graphic must-read for any horror fan. I have read this book and I found It to be an addicting and well written piece of literature. I would reccomend this book to any fan of the horror genre.
