This is one of the most effective texts I use for any class I teach in any subject. It is supremely readable. My undergraduate students concur. It strikes that very difficult balance between the exploration of serious research in the field and making the information (theoretical and empirical) accessible to students, who often have no prior training in the issue area. It's just a superb work. For anyone interest in world politics, gender issues, and especially for those interested in both.
