Frozen Arrow In 2003 a United Airlines 747 explodes in the air and disappears in the deep, frigid waters off the coast of Greenland. The first ship available to begin the search for the wreckage, and the black boxes, is Atlantis, an oceanographic research vessel operated by Woods Hole Oceanographic, the organization famous for finding the wreckage of the Titanic. With the normal technical experts on seasonal leave, Atlantis and her substitute captain, Michael James (Mac) MacAdams, set out to sea with a makeshift crew, a strangely attractive but suspicious lead sonar tech, and a principle investigator Mac has known, and deeply disliked, for much of his career. An airplane is located, but rather than an airliner, Atlantis has located a forgotten, or hidden, relic of the cold war era: the wreckage is a B-52 bomber. Who will win the race for the bomber's payload, and what are they willing to do to get their hands on it? Frozen Arrow, the latest work by Donald Churchwell, may be fiction, but could it have really happened at some time in our past?
