The year is 1789, a veteran of the revolutionary war takes his two teenage sons on a hunting trip on the fringes of civilization in the desolate northern territory. Spurred by worry and pain from a war that never ended in the old soldiers head, the old father Robert Delaney hopes to teach his boys vital survival skills so they do not suffer as he had during the war. However the trip does not go as planned, as in the numbing darkness of the forest, in the heart of winter, lies a deep rooted evil.

An evil that is brewing and growing stronger by the day, an evil that will do everything in its power to prey upon the weakness of Roberts fractured psyche. The old soldier will have to contend with the unforgiving nature of winter storms, the insatiable and unending hunger of a monster that lusts for human flesh beyond reason, and above all he must contend with the evil of his own dark and twisted mind if he hopes to overcome his own darkness and save the things he fights and lives for in the world, his sons.
