Decent guide for visitors to major Texas forts

This magazine-like book describes about three dozen forts "that held a key role in the Indian campaigns." Thus, only major forts are included (The Alamo, Forts Brown, Bliss, McIntosh, Duncan, Belknap, Stockton, Davis, to name just a few). When and where each fort was established, a brief historical account, and the state of the fort today are given in varying degrees of thoroughness. The last chapter is barely a listing of various less important forts. Many of these forts are today state or county parks and offer something of interest for the visitor to see. A handy guide for travelers visiting these sites.
