From Road to Damascus

By P. A Grant

Michael "Rev" Daniels is feared across South London as a senior figure in the Dark Matter Crew - a man of discipline, power and carefully controlled violence who answers to one person only: Lucius Sackthorn.

What most people don't know is that Rev was once Michael Daniels - the son of Pastor Peter Daniels, raised in church before grief, anger and one devastating loss sent his life in another direction.

Lucius found Michael at sixteen: angry, grieving and vulnerable. He recognised something in the boy and spent the next ten years shaping pain into purpose, anger into loyalty, and loyalty into something far darker. Under Lucius's influence, Michael became Rev - one of the most feared men in South London.

But beneath everything Lucius built on top of him lies a truth buried far deeper than Michael realises - a calling tied to a bloodline stretching back to the slave plantations of eighteenth-century Jamaica. A war that never ended. A destiny Lucius has spent decades trying to suppress.

Then one night, on a Croydon street, with a petrol can in his hand and his father's church only metres away, a blinding supernatural light stops him in his tracks.

Suddenly the life Michael has spent years building begins to fracture. Bindings weaken. Buried truths begin rising to the surface. And the God he walked away from at sixteen seems unwilling to let him go.

As ancient forces move beneath the streets of South London, Michael finds himself caught between two worlds - darkness and grace, destiny and destruction, the man he became and the person he was always meant to be. For decades, unseen powers have been fighting for the spiritual control of Croydon itself, and Michael Daniels is no longer simply caught in the middle of the conflict. He may be the key to it.

Because the battle for his soul is only the beginning.

From Road to Damascus is Book One of The Flamekeepers Trilogy - a gritty supernatural Christian thriller series set in Croydon, South London - where spiritual warfare is real, grace is radical, and no darkness can stand forever against the light.
