Every day the Levitical Priests were commanded to put on the table in the Inner Court of the Temple, what is called in the King James Version of the Bible, shewbread. This shewbread is what is known to the Jews as "The Bread of His Presence." Understanding this should help us see why Jesus taught us to pray, give us this day our daily bread As we walk daily with the Lord we can and should feed on this Bread, the Bread of His Presence. Some scholars, like Bishop Lightfoot, believed Jesus was pointing at the shewbread in a synagogue when He made this statement in John 6:48, I am that bread. He is that Bread that came down from Heaven and He certainly wants us to have that fresh and daily revelation of His Glory and His Deity The Fresh Bread we get from our daily walk with Him can often, when shared, bless and compel others in their walk. That is the very simple reason for this book. Our disinterested intent (the best we know our heart) is solely to share this Bread we have eaten with others. Like a delicious meal or dish, we have consumed, we desire others to enjoy what we have tasted and found to be good. Hopefully, this book will be a word in season for the reader. The prompting of God to share these daily gleanings began in the summer of 2010 during a very deliberate time of deep soul searching. Having found the mercy of God so sweet as we labored in seeking for a pure heart, I became aware of the need to share with others the Bread that I was eating. On November 29, 2010, I began to share some of the nuggets with listeners of my radio broadcast and with friends on social media. That nugget was "Preach for Me." For three years, I continued until I sensed the release of that assignment. Therefore, in this book I will offer these nuggets or articles for each day of the year. All of us go through different seasons for different reasons and we all need to be encouraged and challenged by each other. I have often said that a Christian book is not worth reading if it does not drive you to the Word of God. I pray these pages pass that test. I have often admonished the listeners on our radio broadcast, The Bible Breakfast Club (BBC), not to let any book written by man compete with the Word of God. However, I believe you will soon discover as you read these articles, they are Bible centered and filled with Scripture references. After all, it is the Word of God that does the work of God. There are some articles that offer a reproof or rebuke to the church in general or perhaps to some form of doctrinal imbalance. Some will stretch you and challenge you as it did me when I wrote them. Others will cause you to praise the Lord and maybe even shout hallelujah This book is not meant to be controversial, but some of it is controversial. This book is not an evangelistic effort, but some of it is evangelistic. This book is not meant to be an apologetic or polemical effort, but you will find a little of both in its pages. Mostly, the book Fresh Bread is an account of the dealings of a Holy God with one of His children who desires to share it with more of His children. In the light of these introductory words, I humbly offer to you, the reader, the book Fresh Bread. Bro. Ron
