Cassandra is a young Englishman woman who has been invited by her worldly older sister to go on a cruise with her and her rich older boyfriend.On arrival in Australia she realizes that her sister is a kept woman and that she is very mercenary towards her boyfriend.Cassandra feels very uncomfortable going with them on their cruise ship especially as she believes that everyone will think that she has been tarred by the same brush as her sister.She feels especially self conscious around the captain who she has come to admire and to love because she thinks he believes she's a gold digger like her sister.There are misunderstandings and separation before Cassandra and the captain are brought together by love.I read this book almost 20 years ago so I don't remember the name of the captain and I'm not too sure of the setting but the name frangipani has always stuck in my mind.
