London-based photographer Francesca Allen (born 1993) depicts participants in Lithuania's Konkursas Pasaulio Ilgaplauk?s, the annual competition for the world's longest hair. The resulting photographs scrutinize the dichotomy between modernity and tradition, obsession and aspiration, and ideas of womanhood.
