Framed: A Charlie Hardwick Thriller (Hardwick #1)

By Tom Meitner

Charlie Hardwick spent sixteen years in prison for a murder he didn't commit.

Now he's out. Exonerated. And instead of taking the settlement money and disappearing, he's done something no one expected: he went back to the job. Same city. Same badge. Same department that let him rot.

His first week back, two teenagers find a body buried in the woods off Highway 94. Throat cut. Partially decomposed. No ID. It's the kind of case that should be routine for a veteran detective, except nothing about Charlie's return is routine.

Someone is watching him. His new partner doesn't trust him. His old chief is hiding something. And every murder he investigates pulls him closer to the conspiracy that put him behind bars in the first place.

Charlie thought getting out of prison was the hard part. He was wrong.

Framed is the first book in the Charlie Hardwick thriller series, featuring six interconnected murder investigations, a conspiracy that spans the Chicago power structure, and a detective who refuses to stop digging even when it might get him killed.
