Found Fort: (Tales From the Vault: Short Shocks 3)

By CL Vault

THE FORT WAS ABANDONED. THE GIRL INSIDE WASN'T FORGOTTEN.

Twelve-year-old Sam Hawthorne doesn't believe in ghosts. He believes in wires, motion sensors, and finding logical explanations for things that go bump in the night.

Then he discovers an abandoned tree fort behind Harbor City's junkyard.

Inside, he finds a strange identification badge with its owner's name scratched out. A pale hand pressing against the wall. And one impossible deadline:

RETURN DUE: FEB 30, 1999.

Sam installs a homemade security system to prove there's nothing supernatural about the place.

Instead, his cameras begin saving photographs nobody took.

A mysterious girl named June starts speaking through his electronics. She isn't quite alive. She isn't quite a ghost. And according to Harbor City's records, she doesn't officially exist.

Then the system marks Sam's mother for return.

Suddenly, Sam is fighting something far worse than a haunting: a city that can rewrite reality, a hidden archive that stores human beings like lost property, and a bureaucracy that never admits a mistake.

EVERYTHING FOUND MUST BE RETURNED.

Found Fort is Book 3 of Tales From the Vault: Short Shocks, a darkly funny, unsettling science-fiction horror series about cursed technology, impossible rules, and the secrets waiting beneath the Seawall.
