Andy's twin sister Anna is everything he's not: athletic, daring, and most of all, brave
At least, that was Anna then. After Anna's stroke, Andy's world fractures. The person who knows him better than anyone has turned into someone else, and it's causing a ripple effect on Andy's life. His parents are stressed about medical bills and fight all the time. Family outings are met with stares, and inviting people over has become more complicated. On top of that, his only friend--Anna's BFF Pansy--is branching off and meeting new people.
It's been hard enough to accept that their trio has become a duo now that they're starting fifth grade. Andy isn't sure how to handle the feelings surrounding Anna's upcoming brain surgery when the two of them are barely speaking. Somehow, he must summon up his own bravery and face the terrifying truth that nothing--least of all himself--is going back to the way it was so now his only way out is forward.
