Form Carpentry is one of three total trainee guides making up NCCER's 6th Edition Carpentry series. In its latest release, the series moved from a four-level program to a two-pronged career path. It now consists of a base level (General Carpentry) and two specialized upper levels (Advanced Carpentry Frame & Finish] and Form Carpentry). The entire program still fulfills a four-year registered apprenticeship. Alternatively, a shorter training program narrows in on the Finish Carpenter or Form Carpenter paths.
The 6th Edition of Form Carpentry has been heavily revised to better reflect the form carpentry work process. It comprises 165 hours of skills covering competencies for concrete work, from fundamental concepts to complex requirements for tilt-up walls, bridges and tunnels.
