Let God be God, He knows what He is doing

I would put this in my 10 essential books to be trapped on a desert island with, along with Edith's other offerings "Affliction", "L'Abri", "Christianity is Jewish" and "What is a Family?". (Also on the list would be The Ragamuffin Gospel and The Signature of Jesus by Brennan Manning, "An Arrow Pointing to Heaven, a devotional biography of Rich Mullins by James Bryan Smith, Whatever Happened to the Human Race by Francis Schaeffer, and Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis) I have over the last 15 years had the opportunity to share this book with several people grieving either over the loss of a loved one, loss of a marriage, or just feeling aimless and like their life makes no difference, this book will gently introduce you the the God who is there, and is not silent. Edith is such an easy, comfortable read, whether you like to go a chapter at a time over tea or if you are a cover to cover "have to finish it in one setting" person, her illustrations of the truth found in God's word and applications as she has found them in her life and the lives of those God has brought across her path are simple, timeless and so easy to share with others. If you are a musician, you will have to do a little research on your instrument of choice, after the insight shared regarding the Steinway Company and the makings of their piano's, you realize just how specially designed we are as the workmanship of our Master's hand, and how precious each one of us are to Him. I thank God daily for Edith and her love for Him, her devotion and steadfastness to Him, and her committment to sharing that with any and everyone, and giving hope to the reader that you can be used by God, and His will and work accomplished through our lives.
