Book Overview

Bella Rossi may be nearing thirty, but her life is just starting to get interesting. When her Italian-turned-Texan parents hand over the family wedding planning business, Bella is determined not to let them down. She quickly books a "Boot Scoot'n" wedding that would make any Texan proud. There's only one catch--she's a country music numbskull because her family only listens to Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. Where will she find a DJ on such short notice...

Texas meets Italian

Bella is looking for a DJ, instead she gets DJ a Texas cowboy! I absolutely loved this story. It makes you laugh, and really get with the characters. A big rowdy Italian family in Texas? Right here. Bella is great! DJ is gentle and sweet, while still being all male. It may help that I love Texas, Galveston, and pine woods. If you are looking for something to read, this is it!

Very Entertaining.

If you've been reading my reviews for awhile you realize that with every book I read, in any genre, I look for family relationships. Everything we try to do in life revolves around or is complicated by the family dynamics. And every family is dysfunctional in its own way. I've known Janice for several years. I am amazed to realize this is the first book of hers that I've read. Janice is always smiling and her humor spills over into this book. Funny, lighthearted in the way she handles the blending of two very different families. How can it ever work out? Does love really conquer all? And how does the Parrot help?

Italian meets Country! Delightful read!

Janice Thompson (Hanna) has done it again! By far I think this one is my fav! Janice created such wonderful characters! Bella is adorable! And DJ is the perfect man. Bella's family is wonderful, I loved every part of this book, from the Wedding Facility, the Rossi family, the pizza! The BBQ! The Italian food, makes me want Italian food and BBQ the same day! I can't wait to read the next Fools Rush in book, I want to know what happens to every one... especially Uncle Lazarro and Aunt Rose.

Delightful, captivating story!

Janice Thompson's gift for writing humorous, romantic tales proves true once again in her book Fools Rush In. The story unfolds on Galveston Island, where Bella Rossi, a wedding planner of Italian descent, meets D. J. Neeley, a Texan through and through. Such a blending produces a joyous, fun-filled adventure for readers, whose lives will surely be richer for the time they spend at Club Wed in Fools Rush In. This captivating book will satisfy your craving for a wonderful, lighthearted story. Don't miss reading Fools Rush In.

A charming, fun read

Fun. This was simply a fun book to read. I don't normally love first person narrative, but Bella is terrific. Her voice is funny and poignant. Her family is typically Italian: loud, boisterous, involved and loving. She's given the family wedding-planning business and to make it her own, decides to host themed weddings. Her first one is a down-home cowboy wedding that threatens to take on a life of its own. But, God and family prevail and Bella finds not only herself, but a life of her own. I loved Bella and D.J. I loved her family and his family and the two coming together: the fiery, passionate Italians and the fiery passionate, Texans. You've gotta love them both! And, while it's a wee bit predictable and while everything wraps up neatly, it nevertheless is a charming, fun read. I read it in an evening, simply because I was enthralled and enjoying it so much. I can totally see this book on the screen. It would be a terrific chick-flick film. I can't wait for this series to continue.

That's Amore!

Janice Thompson's novel "Fools Rush In" is an incredibly enjoyable read! Filled with humor and love and a loud New Jersey Italian family that has relocated to Galveston Island in Texas, this romantic tale thoroughly satisfies! I am overjoyed that the front cover touts this as "Book One" in the "Weddings by Bella" Series! I cannot wait for more time and new adventures with these colorful and entertaining characters that remind me of my own New York Italian upbringing. Bella is taking over her parents' wedding planning business and adding her own twist: theme weddings. When a client requests a "Boot Scootin' Country-Western Wedding", Bella is at a loss, knowing nothing about country music. When a divine appointment connects her to a handsome D.J. with a love of all things country and western, it seems that the Lord has intervened in Bella's favor in more ways than one. This fun-loving two-step is a tasty blend of Tex-Mex meets Mambo Italiano. I absolutely loved this book! From the adorable front cover to the charming sing-song chapter titles that had me humming or singing as I began each new section, I was charmed from front to back. The only thing missing from the pages of this terrific read was a recipe for Rosa's rosemary chicken, but I will make my own version of D.J.'s pizza for sure! We tried it last night. The pizza was delicioso!
