Flower Girl

By Steve Coates

It's a rainy spring and Ottawa has a killer. Men are being murdered with precision by a red haired woman who comes and goes like an apparition on a cold, wet night. At every crime scene detectives find the same disturbing signature: a crude flower drawn in the victim's blood. The police have begun to call her the Flower Girl. She's been hunting for years, her methods refined and effective. When DNA links the murders to a string of gruesome killings in Manitoba the RCMP dispatch the woman who has been chasing the Flower Girl for five years to assist in the investigation. She knows how the killer thinks and her past that reads like a road map of trauma that fuels a hatred of all men. As the investigation intensifies and the Flower Girl feels her pursuers getting closer the line between hunter and hunted blur with deadly consequences. April showers bring May flowers, and the Flower Girl is planting a garden.
