Great book with a sassy, humorous tone...

********* Spoiler Alert ********** Having read the back of the book, I began reading expecting I might end up bored, but surprisingly this book was a fun ride all the way through. It was very well written and told with a humorous, sassy tone. Without giving too much away, the book starts out with Cassie going to her Aunt's wedding so that they (her uncle and aunt) may renew their vows, unknowingly she, the flower girl at the first wedding, and Luke, the ring-bearer at the first wedding are part of a matchmaking scheme created by her Aunt Eleanor and his mother who are best friends. Both she and Luke who have had past tragedies with their partners are not up for the match. However, in the midst of it all God has different plans, by at first using Luke's 4 year old son, Sam, as a way to bring them together. Cassie and Sam hit it off from the get-go so Sam is instantly drawn to her. In the midst of being shoved together on several occasions Luke and Cassie soon find they really enjoy each other's company and thus begins their growing affections for one another. As they both come to terms with their feelings, they also come to terms with their insecurities and weaknesses. This book made me laugh a lot. I truly loved both characters and the plot was well written. No forced scenes and dumb heroes or heroines. No doormats either. None of the characters in the book are stepping stones to the point of being ridiculous. I for one happen to love showing Godly love like any other Christian but some books just take it too far--unrealistically so. But that is not the case with this book. Any average human being, Christian or not, could relate to both characters easily. The book also maintains the message of faith well without being too over-bearing. If you prefer the subtle message versus a heavy-leaden one, then you'll enjoy this book. It was very seamless. And the attraction between the two character's was lovely. Dana Corbit now has me as a true fan of her work. I am going to be seeking out more of her books. This one is a must read if you want humor, light-heartedness, romance, a little sass and faith all mixed in one!
